Presidential elections in Ukraine: key outcomes

The winner of the election campaign Mr. Petro Poroshenko: my election program – the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU;


- For the first time in the history of independent Ukraine presidential candidate won in all the regions, including Donetsk and Lugansk regions;


- All major election competitors of Mr. P.Poroshenko implicitly acknowledged his victory (Y.Tymoshenko, O.Lyashko, S.Tihibko, M.Dobkin etc.);


- More than 80 % of the population voted for candidates who promoted pro-European course of Ukraine (Petro Poroshenko, Yulia Tymoshenko, Oleg Lyashko, Anatoliy Grytsenko);

- On preliminary information of CEC of Ukraine, P.Poroshenko receives 54,7% of votes,  Y.Тymoshenko - 12,8%, O.Lyashko - 8,3%, А.Grytsenko - 5,5%, S.Тіgipko - 5,2%.


- The presidential candidates from "the Right sector" (Dmytro Yarosh) and "Freedom" (Oleg Tyagnybok) jointly gained only 2.2%. At the same time, during the European elections the right-wing parties in several EU countries have got 10 times more votes cast than in Ukraine, particularly in France (25%), Austria (20%), Denmark (23%);


- Chairman of the Pan-Ukrainian Jewish Congress Mr. Vadim Rabynovych got twice as much votes as leaders of "the Right sector" (Dmytro Yarosh) and "Freedom" (Oleg Tyagnybok) - 2 % vs. 1 % and 1.3 % respectively.
