On February 23, 2021, the Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), Ambassador Yaroslav Melnyk, held a video conference with the Coordinator of Strategic Programs of the FAO Regional Office for Europe and Central Asia Mr. Raimund Jehle.

The meeting was devoted to discussing the political and practical aspects of Ukraine's cooperation with FAO. The main efforts are currently aimed at completing and signing of a bilateral Memorandum on Cooperation and Provision of FAO Technical Assistance Programme, implementation of technical assistance projects in our country in the field of agriculture, including in cooperation with the EU, as well as strengthening the activities of the FAO Project Office in Kyiv.

As part of discussion of the multilateral agenda, it was agreed to coordinate efforts in preparation for the Summit on Food Systems, to be convened by the UN Secretary-General in September 2021.
